OKAY SO WHEN I FIRST MET THESE DUDES I KNEW IWAS GONNA LIKE EM.
FIRST OFF ALL I NOTICED THIER BADASS CUSTOM MADE SMOKER WITH THE CROSSED SIX SHOOTERS LOGO AND THEN WHEN I FOUND OUT THE NAME OF THE TEAM
"SMOKE WAGON BBQ"
( WHICH BY THE WAY IS ON THE PLATES OF MY PERSONAL SMOKE RIG)
I HAD TO MEET HIS TEAM.

CHAD COLLIER AND HIS CREW OF GUNSLINGERS, DWAYNE(DAD AND AVID FOOD ENTHUSIAST) MATTEW, AND LIFELONG FRIEND STEVE LAIN HAIL FROM SURPRISE ARIZONA, SAID THE WHOLE "TOMBSTONE" THING WAS A NATURAL CHOICE AS THEY ARE ALL WESTERN MOVIE BUFFS- LIKE ME!
"WE STARTED COOKING BARBECUE COMPETITIVELY ABOUT MID 2007 OR SO BUT WE HAD OUR FIRST BIG LESSON IN TEMPE AZ. IN 2008. WE SCORED 12TH IN BRISKET BUT WE FOUND OUT WE NEEDED TO GET A PLAN OF ATTACK TOGETHER." CHAD SAYS."SO WE GOT INTO THE "QN4U" COOKING SCHOOL AND WERE NEXT TO HARRY SOO OF "SLAP YO' DADDY" AND RECENT "PITTMASTERS" FAME IN LAKE PLEASANT."" WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND LEARNED SO MUCH!"CHAD TELLS ME THAT CONSISTENCY HAS BEEN THE KEY TO THEIR EARLY SUCCESSES SO FAR. BEING A REALITIVELY YOUNG TEAM WE HAVE HAD SOME CALLS BUT HAVE YET TO GET TO THE "INNER CIRCLE" BUT WE NEVER GIVE UP. THEY SEEM TO DISPERSE THE COOKING DUTIES AMONG ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE TEAM, DAD DOES REALLY GOOD WITH THE BRISKET, CHAD HANDLES THE RIBS AND SOMETIMES PORK AND STEVE OR MATT PICK UP THE CHICKEN CATEGORY. WE ALL HAVE A SORT OF COUNCIL FOR THE END RESULTS AND VOTE ON WHAT WE TURN IN ON GAME DAY!
IN THE END ITS ABOUT OUR FAMILY AND HAVING A GREAT TIME.

OKAY SO THEIR BADASS SMOKER IS A CUSTOM DESIGN AND THEY CONSULTED DAVID KLOSE WHEN IT CAME TO DRAFT ENGINEERING AND SUCH.AFTER MUCH DEBATE AS TO THE DESIGN THEY FINISHED HER OFF WITH A CROSSED SIXSHOOTER DESIGN AND THEIR COOKING HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME! THEY ALSO USE A COUPLE CUSTOM MADE BARREL SMOKERS HOOKED UP TO A "STOKER" FOR HEAT CONSISITENCY AND FINISH WITH THEIR OWN BLENDS OF SPICE RUBS AND SAUCES.
A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY GENERAL MANAGER DURING THE WEEK AND SOMETIMES CATERER, CHAD TOLD ME THEY WISHED THE COULD DO MORE CATERING AS THEY REALLY ENJOY IT. I THINK THEY WILL BE VERY SOON! THESE GUYS ARE ONLY GETTING OUT ABOUT FOUR TIMES A YEAR BUT THEY WANT TO GET TO MORE COOKOFFS.
 I'M TELLING YA I COOKED NEXT TO THESE FELLOWS IN BUCKEYE AZ. LAST NOVEMBER AND THEY ARE LEGIT!
